2026 NJ Law Enforcement Exam - REVISED Application Process
March 1, 2026 - Posted by Ed Esposito
On March 1, 2026, the New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJ CSC) Law Enforcement Entry Exam (LEE) was made with some significant changes to the exam application process. For the 2026 exam, applicants will now file ONE application and simply select the particular title series that they are interested in. Under the revised process, candidates will not have to complete a separate application for each agency which was required for the 2022 - 2025 exams. This essentially returns the application process for the exam to the traditional process that placed candidates who pass the exam in a "pool" for hiring agencies to draw from as they hire police officers.
The 2026 NJ CSC entry-level Law Enforcement Examination includes the following titles:

Campus Police Officer Recruit
County Police Officer
State Park Police Officer
Police Officer Human Services
Police Officer Palisades Interstate Park
Sheriff's Officer

Correctional Police Officer Youth Justice Commission
In addition to the 2026 LEE announcement, Civil Service made separate announcements for the following four titles. The SAME EXAM will be used to test candidates who have applied for any of these Parole announcements and/or the LEE announcement. Because the same examination is used, candidates will only have one opportunity to take the examination, regardless of the number of symbols for which they apply, and their score achieved on the examination will be applied to all the symbols for which they have applied.
