If you have been waiting for the next entrance exam to become a police officer, sheriff's officer or county corrections officer in New Jersey, the New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJ CSC) announced today that the applications are now available online from July 1-August 31, 2019. This exam is typically administered by the NJ CSC in Fall (November and sometimes early December) after the application period ends.

The entry-level exam administered by the NJ CSC assesses the applicant’s readiness for entry into law enforcement positions. Anyone taking this exam has to file only one application and indicate their interest in any or all of the titles listed above. The NJ CSC requires an application processing fee of $50.00 that is paid for online when the application is submitted. The fee is the same regardless of how many title areas are selected on the application.
The NJ CSC also includes positions for specific jurisdictions and titles for applicants that are bilingual in Spanish and English and bilingual in Korean and English. This is another option that candidates can select when they complete the entry-level exam application on the NJ CSC website.
