Course participants will receive a review of the most important legal topics and statutes listed in the New Jersey Civil Service Commission’s Orientation Guide for Police Chief, Deputy Chief and Inspector. The training will include classroom instruction on the most relevant content for the police senior-level examination and a series of classes dedicated to preparing for and enhancing oral examination responses. Our senior-level course also includes private instruction and multiple practice sessions before we administer our simulated "final exam."
This course is typically offered from February - June and August - December. The availability of the course is based on the announcements of the administration of the Deputy Chief, Inspector and Chief examinations made by the NJ CSC.

Instruction on oral examination strategies
Our course includes proven examination strategies that will provide you with an advantage over your competition. All aspects of the course are integrated with techniques and strategies designed to maximize each participant’s ability to understand, retain and recall information. ESPOS senior-level course is specifically designed to enhance the delivery of oral examination responses and focuses on the proper application of technical knowledge.
Simulated “final” exam
A simulated final oral examination will be administered during the course to ensure our participants know what to expect on the day of their examination. Participants will also receive feedback on their responses to further aid in their preparation.
Multiple practice sessions
Course participants will receive oral examination questions and scenarios during our practice sessions. Each participant will practice by preparing and delivering responses in a private setting multiple times throughout our course. Our instructors provide feedback and a comprehensive evaluation of each response.
Private sessions
Course participants will receive will receive eight completely private sessions (one-on-one) with a member of our team during the course.
Rank specific training
There are key differences in the oral examinations that are administered. Our course offers rank specific instruction and materials that are developed solely for the test you are taking. The rank specific training will identify these differences and give our participants an edge over their competition.
Classroom instruction
This course includes the ability to attend any of our classroom lectures that are relevant to source materials for the senior-level exam. Although you are not taking a written examination, attending our classroom sessions will help guide your studies as we review the most important aspects of: Arrest, Search and Seizure Study, AG Guidelines/Directives, Title 2C and the most recent legal updates.
Take-home practice scenarios
During the course, participants receive multiple take-home practice scenarios and sample responses. The take-home materials are distributed throughout the course and until the exam is administered to provide maximum exposure to a variety of highly testable content.
Unlimited access to our online learning center
Our training goes beyond the classroom with unlimited access to our online learning center. We do not reduce the amount of in-class instruction, but instead enhance each participant's learning experience with our online resources.
In order to maximize each participant's exposure to source materials, we have incorporated the most beneficial aspects of online learning resources to our comprehensive promotional programs. ESPOS online learning center is accessible 24/7 and includes flashcards and practice tests on the most testable exam topics including: case law, statutory law and Attorney General Guidelines.
