Complete List of NJ CSC Police Departments Testing in 2024
March 1, 2024 - On March 1, 2024, The New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJ CSC) issued examination announcements for Entry Level Law Enforcement (LEE) titles. CSC has also stated that “ANY previous announcement examination cycle will NOT be carried over to the 2024 announcement. Anyone wishing to receive a score and be included on one or more of the 2023 LEE eligible lists MUST apply for the specific announcement/symbol issued for the jurisdiction and title in which you are interested, pay the related fee(s), and take and pass the examination scheduled for 2024.” In other words, even if you are on the list NOW for a jurisdiction, your score will no longer be valid on the NEW list once the 2024 exam results are released. March 1, 2024 - The 2024 New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJ CSC) Law Enforcement Entry Exam (LEE) has been made with some significant changes to the exam application process. For the 2024 exam, applicants must file a SEPARATE application for each particular job and title they are interested in. NJ CSC Plans to Administer Police Entry Exam in 2024
March 1, 2024 - If you have been waiting for the next entrance exam to become a police officer, sheriff's officer or county corrections officer in New Jersey, the New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJ CSC) has recently announced that the exam application period will be open from March 1, 2024, through April 1, 2024. This exam is formally known as the "Law Enforcement Examination" (LEE), and according to the NJ CSC, the next announcement for the administration of the exam is tentatively scheduled for the summer of 2024. 2017 Police Sergeant’s Exam Announcement Expected in July
May 11, 2017 - In late April, the New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJ CSC) revised their Examination Information Alert for the 2017 Police Promotional Exam to include the title of Sergeant! Previously, the NJ CSC’s Examination Information Alert only stated “TBD” for the title of Police Sergeant. NJ CSC Updates Police Promotional Examination Information Alert
April 25, 2017 - The NJ Civil Service Commission has just revised the Examination Information Alert for the 2017 Police Promotional Exam to include the title of Sergeant! This latest revision means Captains, Lieutenants and Sergeants will be testing at the same time. Click here to view their announcement, which was posted today. According to the alert, the exam orientation guides will be issued on July 1st and the exam is tentatively scheduled for October 2017!
Sheriff’s Promotional Exams Revised for 2017
December 28, 2016 - Major changes have been made to the 2017 Orientation Guides for the Sheriff’s Officer Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain examinations that are tentatively scheduled for May of 2017. In early 2016, the New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJ CSC) initiated a job analysis study for the position of Sheriff’s Officer Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain.
