Jurisdictions Testing for Police Lieutenant and Captain Announced
July 3, 2018 - The NJ CSC updated their Law Enforcement Status Report today for the month of July and included the list of jurisdictions that will be testing for Police Lieutenant and Police Captain in 2018. According to the report, Both written exams are tentatively scheduled to be administered in October and the oral exam for Police Captain is tentatively scheduled for December. Applications for these exams must be filed by 4:00 PM on July 23, 2018. For a complete list of jurisdictions included in the report click here.
NJ CSC Sets Date for the 2018 Sheriff’s Promotional Exam
May 31, 2018 - The NJ CSC emailed candidates for the 2018 Sheriff’s Promotional Exam (Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain) that the “examinations will be administered on Thursday, July 26, 2018.” This is the first “official” correspondence from the CSC since they removed the orientation guides a few months ago for this exam. NJ CSC Sets Date for the 2017 Police Sergeant’s Exam
September 8, 2017 - The wait is finally over for police sergeant candidates as the New Jersey Civil Service Commission set the date for the 2017 examination. According to their announcement, the Police Sergeant’s “examination will be administered on Saturday, October 28, 2017.” Click here to read more.
Date Set for the 2017 Police Lieutenant’s and Captain’s Exam
September 1, 2017 - The New Jersey Civil Service Commission has announced that the “tentative date for the Police LIEUTENANT (county and municipal) exam is October 5, 2017.” They also announced that the written portion of the Police CAPTAIN (county and municipal) exam is also tentatively scheduled for the same date.
