NJ CSC Sets Date for the 2018 Sheriff's Promotional Exam
May 31, 2018 - Posted by Ed Esposito
The NJ CSC emailed candidates for the 2018 Sheriff’s Promotional Exam (Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain) that the “examinations will be administered on Thursday, July 26, 2018.” This is the first “official” correspondence from the CSC since they removed the orientation guides a few months ago for this exam.
CSC is providing candidates an opportunity to “self-select” a testing location for this exam and you must do so via the link in the email they sent. We do not have the link and we do not know if the link is unique for each person or exam. Therefore, we encourage you to check your junk mail or spam for this notification. If you did not receive an email and you have signed up for the 2018 Sheriff’s Promotional Exam, you should contact the NJ CSC as soon as possible.
A similar process was used during the last police promotional exam and the selection of for each location is limited and done on a first-come, first served basis.
According to the CSC: “The “self-select” scheduling method will close on Wednesday June 6, 2018 at 3:00 PM. Candidates who do not participate in this method of scheduling will be automatically assigned a test location from the remaining available locations.”
At this time, the CSC has not posted or issued new or revised orientation guides. According to the CSC, new orientation guides for this exam will be issued “in a week or two” and posted on their website.
